New CEO for Largest
Indigenous-owned Oilsands Firm
Fort McMurray, Alta. – JP Gladu is leaving his post as CEO of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) to lead Fort McMurray-based Bouchier, Alberta’s largest Indigenous-owned, integrated site-service company. Gladu will take over from co-founder and current CEO Nicole Bourque-Bouchier in April 2020. The appointment is “a monumental step forward” for the company, founder David Bouchier said in a statement.“We are optimistic about the growth potential in this region and have established ambitious goals for the next decade,” he said. “This change in leadership will give us the opportunity to focus on our strategic vision.”Bourque-Bouchier said Gladu is a thoughtful, talented leader and gifted collaborator.“He has extensive experience in the natural resource sector, but his ability to bring together non-Indigenous and Indigenous businesses toward sustainable partnerships and shared economic prosperity has made him the ideal successor to take us into the future,” she said. CCAB’s growth under Gladu has been “nothing short of phenomenal,” said co-chair Randy Moore. A key part of his legacy is the CCAB’s Supply Change initiative, an Aboriginal procurement strategy that is now seeing results, with the recent platform promise that federal government departments will have an Indigenous procurement target of five per cent – equivalent to $1 billion, the Council reports.
